Bill Bellamy
Bill Bellamy is a comedic talent and actor got his early beginnings in comedy at Rutgers University doing stand-up shows and continued doing stand-up in small venues in places such as New York and Los Angeles. Bellamy’s first comedy special “Booty Call” which was extremely successful, was featured on showtime, after he had been featured on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam where he famously coined the term. This solidified his place in the entertainment industry , gaining recognition and roles as a host for MTV Jamz and MTV Beach House where he interviewed famous talents such as Janet Jackson, Aaliyah and Tupac.
As his career advanced Bellamy played significant roles in movies such as Love Jones, The Brothers, and held the main role in the film How to be a Player. Bill’s career didn’t stop there, as he obtained a lead role on the Fox produced show Fastlane, and was even a host on NBC’s reality TV show, Last Comic Standing, for two seasons.
In 2012, Bellamy premiered his second comedy features Crazy Sexy Dirty, which again placed highly amongst the comedy specials on Showtime’s network. Bellamy hosted another comedy special shortly after in 2013, Ladies Night Out which was followed by a tour soon after in 2014.
Later in his career, in 2014 Bellamy played a recurring role on the show Hot in Cleveland which featured other stars such as Betty White. In addition to his acting and comedic talents, Bill Bellamy is also the host and executive producer of his show Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes, which has featured and given a platform for up and coming comedians such as Tiffany Haddish, Lil Rel Howery, and Karlous Miller.
